1. Cleanse

Free up your pores and remove daily dirt and oil by pre-cleansing with an oil-based cleanser such as Eau Demaquillant Micellaire. By pre-cleansing, you are allowing your skin-specific cleanser to perfectly remove all makeup and rid the skin of daily impurities.

Pump your skin-specific cleanser into the palm of your hand and dab directly onto your face, neck and décolleté. Using your fingers, massage your cleanser in small circular motions across your forehead, nose, chin, neck and décolleté then rinse with warm water or damp cotton pads.

TOP PRODUCT: Eau Demaquillant Micellaire – £22.25

HOW MUCH? Size of 50p for oil-based cleansers, 1 dessert spoon for cream/gel based cleansers

TOP TIP: Avoid applying creamy or gel based cleansers directly onto a flannel or cloth as they will absorb a lot of the product, meaning you will have to use a lot more than you actually need.

2. Tone

A toner will not only remove those stubborn impurities which hang around after cleansing, but will also balance and prepare your skin for your moisturiser. Toning closes your pores, not doing this can lead to pimples and millia – it is a quick and easy step in your beauty regime but is often missed out. If your skin isn’t completely free of daily impurities, subsequent products applied will not absorb into the skin effectively. Apply a 10p piece size amount to 2 cotton pads and sweep them over your entire face, neck and décolleté ensuring you pay attention to creases where dirt and makeup can get trapped.

TOP PRODUCT: Lotion Hydra Confort – £18.25

HOW MUCH? Size of a 10p piece

TOP TIP: Keep your favourite toner in the refrigerator to keep it cool and provide the face with a fresh awakening in the morning.

3. Exfoliate

Think of the surface of your skin as a barrier which you have to remove to allow the following products to work efficiently. Although your cleanser and toner will have already started preparing your skin, using an exfoliator is an essential step in ridding the skin of impurities which essentially prevent it from breathing. Using either the granular Gommage Éclat Parfait, or the fruit-acid based exfoliator Gommage Biologique, massage a walnut size amount into the face. Take time to massage the product in to give it a chance to lift away sweat, dirt, makeup and other impurities.

TOP PRODUCT: Gommage Biologique – £29.25

HOW MUCH? Size of a walnut

TOP TIP: It is important not to be too heavy handed with your granular exfoliators to avoid scratching and damaging the surface of your skin. A 2 minute gentle massage across the face, paying attention to creases and the area you feel are most congested, will prepare your skin for optimum results from the subsequently applied products. Finally exfoliators work best when applied to damp skin.

4. Mask

Face masks can be used on all skin types and are often the perfect treatment to help you with your skin concerns. The right face mask can help rehydrate skin, remove excess oils or even smooth away fine lines and wrinkles. For optimal results, apply your mask to a freshly exfoliated face; this will encourage the mask to target and treat areas of concern more effectively. You only need to allow 10 minutes for the ingredients in the mask to have benefitted the skin. Remove the mask with warm water and follow with a toner to prepare the skin for subsequently applied products.

TOP PRODUCT: Masque Essentiel Nutrition Confort – £27

HOW MUCH? Size of a walnut

TOP TIP: You can patchwork your favourite face masks to suit your bespoke skin type. For example, those with an oily T-Zone and dehydrated cheeks could target these concerns by applying Masque Soin Pur Equilibre and Masque Hydra Beaute directly to the specific areas.

5. Serum

Serums are concentrated sources of active ingredients (3 times as much as moisturisers) which are quickly absorbed and penetrate deep into the epidermis. Serums can dramatically improve your skin concerns, so make sure you have the one that meets your needs. Book in for a free consultation at Pretty Woman if you are unsure. Prepare your skin with a toner and apply the serum whilst the face is still slightly damp, as the skin is much more permeable then. Dot 2/3 pumps of the product around your face and 1 pump of your eye serum around the eye contour before lightly massaging them in.

TOP PRODUCT: Serum Longue Vie – £84

HOW MUCH? 2/3 Pumps

TOP TIP: Allow your serum to be fully absorbed before applying your moisturiser to ensure it has had the best chance to soak into your skin.

6. Moisturise

Using the right moisturiser for your skin type is key. By using the best moisturiser for your skin type, you will significantly erase your concerns and increase your skin’s hydration levels. You only need a pea size amount of your moisturiser. Dotting this lightly around the face and neck before massaging it in will allow for an even application. Use circular motions with your fingertips ensuring all creases and contours are benefiting from the products.

TOP PRODUCT: Crème Hydra Beaute – £42

HOW MUCH? Pea size amount

TOP TIP: Keep your favourite toner in the refrigerator to keep it cool and provide the face with a fresh awakening in the morning.
